Privacy Policy

Updated June 2026

This policy explains what information Rose Conley (doing business as Books by Rose) collects through this website, how it's used, and the choices you have. Plain language, no surprises.

Information collected

  • Information you give us. When you use the contact form, you share your name, email address, and the contents of your message. If you reach out by email directly, we receive whatever you include in that email.
  • Automatic technical information. Like most websites, the hosting platform records standard server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps — for security, abuse prevention, and basic performance monitoring.
  • Cookies and analytics. The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site. Google sets cookies (typically _ga and _ga_*) that record an anonymous identifier, pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, and basic device and browser information. IP anonymization is enabled, so Google does not store your full IP address. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, remarketing, or cross-site tracking, and we don't combine analytics data with information you submit through the contact form. Aside from analytics, only essential cookies required for the site to function are used.

How information is used

  • To respond to your inquiry and follow up on a potential or active engagement.
  • To deliver bookkeeping and related services if you become a client.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the website.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Your information is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their own marketing.

Service providers

The website and contact-form submissions are hosted on a cloud platform that stores and processes data on our behalf. Email is handled through standard business email providers. These providers are bound by their own privacy and security obligations and only process information as needed to deliver their services.

How long information is kept

Contact-form messages are retained as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and, if applicable, to support the client relationship, plus a reasonable archival period for business records and legal obligations. You can request deletion at any time (see "Your rights" below).

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the Oregon Consumer Privacy Act, and similar state laws. These can include the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have about you.
  • Request a copy of that information.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your information, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information (we don't do either).
  • Opt out of analytics on this site by clicking Decline on the cookie banner. You can reset your choice by clearing this site's data in your browser, which will re-show the banner. You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to opt out of GA across all sites.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@bookkeepingbyrose.com. We'll respond within a reasonable timeframe and may need to verify your identity first.

Children

This website is intended for business owners and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to protect information collected through the site. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your information with the same care we'd want for our own.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page.
