Privacy Policy
Updated June 2026
This policy explains what information Rose Conley (doing business as Books by Rose LLC) collects through this website, how it's used, and the choices you have. Plain language, no surprises.
Information collected
- Information you give me. When you use the contact form, you share your name, email address, and the contents of your message. If you reach out by email directly, I receive whatever you include in that email.
- Automatic technical information. Like most websites, the hosting platform records standard server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps — for security, abuse prevention, and basic performance monitoring.
- Cookies and analytics. The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site. Google sets cookies (typically
_gaand_ga_*) that record an anonymous identifier, pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, and basic device and browser information. IP anonymization is enabled, so Google does not store your full IP address. Google Analytics is not used for advertising, remarketing, or cross-site tracking, and analytics data is not combined with information you submit through the contact form. Aside from analytics, only essential cookies required for the site to function are used.
How information is used
- To respond to your inquiry and follow up on a potential or active engagement.
- To deliver bookkeeping and related services if you become a client.
- To operate, secure, and improve the website.
- To comply with legal obligations.
Your information is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their own marketing.
Service providers
A short list of the third-party services this site relies on. Each is bound by its own privacy and security obligations and only processes information as needed to deliver its service.
- Lovable. Hosting and the managed cloud backend (database, authentication, server logs) for this website and the contact form.
- Google Analytics 4. Visitor analytics, only with your consent via the cookie banner. See the cookies section above for details and opt-out options.
- Google Workspace. Business email for replying to inquiries sent to hello@bookkeepingbyrose.com.
- LinkedIn. Used to publish posts from the Books by Rose LLC LinkedIn page. LinkedIn receives only the content of the posts themselves — not your contact form data or analytics.
Your information is not sold or shared with third parties for their own marketing.
How long information is kept
Different kinds of information are kept for different lengths of time, based on why it was collected:
- Contact inquiries that don't become clients are retained for up to 18 months, then deleted or anonymized.
- Active client records are kept for the duration of the engagement and afterward as needed to meet business, legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
- Email subscribers are retained until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed.
- Cookie and analytics consent records are kept as long as needed to honor your preference on this site.
- Server, security, and admin session logs are kept only as long as needed for security, troubleshooting, and audit purposes.
You can request deletion of your information at any time (see "Your rights" below).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the Oregon Consumer Privacy Act, and similar state laws. These can include the right to:
- Know what personal information I have about you.
- Request a copy of that information.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information (I don't do either).
- Opt out of analytics on this site by clicking Decline on the cookie banner. You can reset your choice by clearing this site's data in your browser, which will re-show the banner. You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to opt out of GA across all sites.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@bookkeepingbyrose.com. I'll respond within a reasonable timeframe and may need to verify your identity first.
Children
This website is intended for business owners and is not directed to children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to protect information collected through the site. No system is perfectly secure, but I treat your information with the same care I'd want for my own.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page.
