Launching this business is exciting, but it's also the culmination of a much longer journey than a website launch or a new LinkedIn page might suggest.
A non-linear path
My degree journey spanned nearly a decade, several majors, and more than a few unexpected turns. Along the way, I had the opportunity to help build and operate a family business, taking on responsibilities that spanned finance, operations, process improvement, and day-to-day business management. Working in a small business environment provided a firsthand education in how every decision impacts the broader organization and how often business owners are required to make important decisions with limited information.
That experience sparked a lasting interest in understanding how businesses operate, how decisions get made, and how better information can drive better outcomes.
That curiosity ultimately led me to accounting, operations, and analytics—fields that all share a common goal: helping organizations make informed decisions.
Why this exists
I've seen firsthand how difficult it can be to run a business without clear financial visibility. Business owners are often expected to make important decisions about pricing, hiring, growth, and cash flow while working with incomplete or outdated information.
The reality is that good decisions require good data.
That's why I started Books by Rose.
I believe bookkeeping should do more than keep records organized or prepare a business for tax season. Accurate financial information creates the foundation for understanding profitability, identifying trends, planning for growth, and making decisions with confidence.
My approach combines accounting, business operations, and analytics to help small business owners gain a clearer understanding of what's happening inside their business.
